Cancer Kills!

Cancer Kills!

A few general facts regarding cancers.

Cancer exists from time immemorial: In the Lazaret cave, near Nice, was discovered the fossilized remains of a 9 year old child who died, some 120 000 years ago, of a bone tumor. The stigma of the disease have also been found in mummies discovered in Egyptian pyramids.

Some facts occurring in the West:

  • It is the Greek physician Hippocrates (460-377 BC) who compared tumors to a crab and gave them for the first time the name of "carcinoma" (a word derived itself from crab) to lumps that become progressively fatal. He described lesions involving the skin, the breast, the stomach, the cervix and the rectum and established a classification. There has been little progress in the study of cancers during the three centuries after Hippocrates ...
  • It is in the 18th century that the French scholar Xavier Bichat (1771-1802), discovered that the different cancer sites are one and the same disease involving the same tissue but in different organs. He explained the concept of distant metastasis ...
  • It was during the first part of the 19th century, thanks to the intervention of the microscope, thatJohannes Peter Müller (1801-1858), German anatomist, gave the first valid definition of cancer: "It is a tumor made up of cells. It upsets the structure of tissues. It recurs after extirpation and kills "...
  • It was during the second half of the 19th century that Paul Ehrlich (1854-1915), German biologist, opened the era of chemotherapy that was not effective until 1940. So, finally, the first chemical substances opposing cell division was found. These substances are today the basis of chemotherapy ...
  • And, it was in 1950 that Charles Brenton Higgins (1901-1997), future Nobel Prize in Medicine (1966), highlighted the role of female hormones on certain human cancers.
  • In our day, in 2016, chemotherapyradiotherapy and surgery, among others, remain the main treatment used to fight cancer disease in the West.

Does cancer remain a fatality in 2018?

It is still a fatality in the West!

It is no longer a fatality in India!

We will call a spade a spade: Indeed, in the West, for at least the past 30 years, advances in treatment for most cancers, were not such as could be expected; and yet, with the advent of the 21st Century, hope was high and money was hugely spent on research!

And, if we were moving, in our research and/or in our heads, on the wrong track ... leading to a dead end, that no one sees, or ... would not want to see! Because 'we went too far indeed now to turn around! The brave and the wise would move backwards and would take the right track!

Note: It is unfortunate to say, but it is estimated that in the West, about 70% of palliative cancer patients, said to be 'incurable', die from different degrees of malnutrition before they indeed die from their cancer!

The human body remains, in principle, very resilient; it can manage up to 70% of deficits and/or the person's wrongdoings to its own body and/or mind. After that, irregularities start and diseases emerge!
